I’m going to start documenting my projects and day to day work as a way to get back into writing, and archiving the development of my artistic practice.

I’ve recently been accepted into the Creative Australia Digital Fellowship program for 2024. The program is a partnership between CA and CNZ, linking artists across the pacific and with individual mentors.

I’ve been doing a lot of research into generative AI for image synthesis.

The following images are created using a LORA, which is a custom AI model that can be used in Stable Diffusion and Touchdesigner. This model was trained on images from my photographic body of work ‘Conjoined’, which was a series of distorted, identity void bodies. A reflection on the identity building I found myself doing when Facebook was first on the scene.

I’m excited about remixing more of my old works. I’ve always had an interest in transhuman, gendervoid and indentity building using technology. AI tools feel very relevant.

READING LIST
‘Glitch Feminism’ by Legacy Russel. I need to re-read but I resonated with the ideas in this book relating to identity building over social media and the ways we can liberate ourselves using algorithms. Also the blurred lack of distinction between The Web (Metaverse?) and IRL.

‘Infomocracy’ by Malka Ann Older. A fiction SciFi about a global democracy system on the edge of collapse.

‘I am a strange Loop’ by Douglas Hofstadter. I’m only half way through. Equating the ‘I’ to video feedback loops.
